A blog of our current photography work.

Kristin and Andrew

Kristin and Andrew were married the other week at a unique venue in Chicago called Chez. To me it was a perfect studio space and it was made for me to photograph in! The day started with some getting ready shots at the Sheraton nearby where I got some great doggie portraits, too. Kristin and Andrew had a first look along the Riverfront and we were able to get some skyline shots in at Olive Park before it started raining on us. Once it started raining we dashed back to the bus and hit up Union Station as our back up plan. Thank you to Kristin and Andrew for having me capture their wedding day!

Sarah and Eric

I had the pleasure of photographing Sarah and Eric’s wedding the other week at one of coolest venues in Illinois, The Silver Fox. It was an old Masonic Temple that they turned into a swanky speakeasy feeling wedding venue. Seriously, everywhere you turn at this place is an opportunity to make great photos. The day started with one of the groomsmen combing through their extensive vinyl collection which set the mood of the day. Their ceremony was held upstairs in an old auditorium and the reception was downstairs in a refurbished community room. I had a wonderful time spending the day with Sarah and Eric and I can’t wait to show them all the photos!

Melissa and Andrew

It’s always such a humbling, and amazing experience to be asked to shoot the weddings of our friends. Melissa and Andrew were married a few weeks ago in a beautiful ceremony at Independence Grove. Melissa and I (Jennifer) work together at Second City Canine Rescue, and it was so fun to see these worlds collide. Melissa’s pup, King, was mentioned throughout the day, and even made an appearance on their signature cocktails, in their vows, and in speeches throughout the night!

Fun fact: every time someone books us for their wedding, we make a donation in their honor to Second City Canine Rescue!

Jake and I loved getting to know Melissa and Andrew’s families, their fun group of friends, and to be a part of their day.

We were so glad the rain held off so that we could do all of our portraits outside, before the skies opened up and stormed!!

Melissa, you were absolutely stunning. Andrew, you are a lucky man!

Cheers, you two!

Rachael and Mike

Rachael and Mike got married a couple of weeks ago at St. Chrysostom’s Church in Chicago. One great thing about church weddings in Chicago is that they are all gorgeous old buildings with interesting architecture and character. St. Chrysostom’s fits that description! Before their sweet ceremony we went around the city to do some portraits with the bridal party. We started at Newberry Library/Washington park, then over to North Ave beach for a few skyline shots, and finished up at the Chicago History Museum steps. Their reception was held at one of my favorite venues in Chicago: Galleria Marchetti. Everything went smoothly and I had such a pleasure being a part of Rachael and Mike’s wedding. Thank you to Nicholas Holstein for helping me as second photographer for the day!

Michelle and Michael

Michelle and Michael had the sweetest day for their wedding a few weeks ago. And it goes without saying, that anybody that has a Dog of Honor, are our people!

We had such a fun time hanging out with them, and capturing every moment of their beautiful day. Thankfully, we were able to squeeze in all the portraits with them at the Morton Arboretum before torrential downpours, and had a blast at their reception at County Line Orchard!

We loved being a part of their celebration, and can’t wait to share all of their photos!

Enjoy a little peek at their beautiful day!
