Ben and Jean

The other week Jean and Ben had me come take a few portraits of them and their dogs at their home. They wanted the session to be at their first home that they built together before they sold it.  I love being able to capture these meaningful moments in people's lives! Here's a few of my favorites from their shoot.

Katie and Mike's Wedding

Katie and Mike had such an amazing day for their wedding, and we loved being able to share in it!

These two were so great to work with, and every detail was beautiful and perfectly arranged by Melissa at Clementine Custom Events!

We started the day at The Westin on Michigan Avenue, before doing a beautiful first look at Fourth Presbyterian Church across the street.  Following that, we did portraits at a few beautiful spots in the city before ending up at the Newberry Library for their sweet, heart-felt ceremony and lovely reception.

We so loved being a part of Katie and Mike's day, and are excited to share a few of our favorite images:

Giving Back: A Little Announcement

When Jake and I got married, we knew we wanted our little family to be generous of heart, and involved in giving back to our community.  We didn't quite know exactly what that would look like, but soon found a calling in animal welfare and rescue.  We brought home our first foster dog not too long after our wedding, and have been actively fostering homeless animals ever since. To date, we have fostered 93 homeless pets, including 52 dogs, 39 cats and 2 rabbits.  There's a good chance that we'll be throwing ourselves a little party when we hit 100 lives saved!

We are very excited to announce that, going forward, every time a couple books us for their wedding day, Two Birds Photography will be making a donation in their name to one of our favorite rescue organizations: Second City Canine Rescue!  Second City is an incredible organization, one that we are continually impressed with, and proud to be a part of.  We know that these donations will be used to help homeless dogs reach full health, and find amazing forever families.

That feels good.

And you can feel good too, by spreading the word and telling your friends about us!

It is our dream that one day every dog will have a home, and that if someone is looking to add a pet to their family, that they will choose adoption.

Peterson Family

While our main focus is wedding photography we actually do quite a bit of other photography work, too! The Petersons reached out to us to do some family portraits in Schaumburg and I was more than happy to do them! Their little boy was so cute and loved being in front of the camera. Seriously, he was happy and smiling until the very very end and it was a very hot summer day.  Please message us if you are interested in having some family portraits done, too! -Jake

Andrea and Mike's Wedding

I had the honor and privilege to photograph Andrea and Mike's wedding a few weeks ago!  I loved the classic and elegant black and white details they had throughout the day. Andrea and Mike got married at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marseilles, they did some portraits at Reddick mansion in Ottawa, and their reception was at Senica's Oak Ridge Golf Club near LaSalle.  I love photographing family weddings and had a ton of fun with these guys!
