Two weeks ago I made the trip down to Bloomington, IL to photograph Joy and Matt's December wedding. Their reception and portrait location was at this old mansion in Miller Park and because it was raining all day we ended up doing all of the portraits inside. But that really didn't matter because it was such a cool place! Enjoy this little preview of photos from their wedding day.

Lizzie and John's Wedding
Lizzie and John had an awesome wedding at a New Leaf in Chicago! As Jake and I were getting ready to leave, I was talking to the two of them and told them that I had NEVER heard so much laughter at a wedding before. And it was true.
John is a comedian, so I expected a couple of yuks and giggles throughout the day. But, I honestly had a hard time remember to hold the camera up to my face and take photos a few times -- I just wanted to listen and join in on the laughs!
From the Yoda ring bearer and the officiant, to the surprise appearance by the "Commander in Chief", the whole day was basically one long, intimate and hilarious routine.
I LOVED it.
And what was most apparent was that as much as John was the funny one cracking the jokes, Lizzie was there laughing. She has a great laugh, and the two of them are adorable together.
Here are a few of my favorite shots from their day:

We loved working with you two!

The LeRoy Family
This evening I was able to grab a few shots of my very good friends, the LeRoys. I am always super pumped to photograph them because they are always so funny and fun to be around! We went out to the State Park, just as we were pulling in, it started to rain, but before we were even all out of the car, the rain stopped! Score.
Here are a couple of my favorite images from their quick session:

You guys are a blast.
Much love,

Megan and Bill's S.Carolina Wedding
Earlier this month, Megan and Bill flew me and my good friend Ryan Timm out to Columbia, South Carolina for their beautiful southern wedding (with a Japanese flair!). We got there the day before, so Ryan and I had a chance to walk around downtown Columbia for some random shots.

When we arrived at the reception site (701 Whaley St.) Megan had decorated the whole place pretty much by herself! She actually folded 1,000 paper cranes including paper crane earrings for each of her bridesmaids. She was running around putting finishing touches to everything. I had a great time just photographing all of the little details she put together.
