Molly and Nick

I spent a couple of hours the day after Christmas with Molly and Nick to photograph their intimate living room ceremony in Berwyn. It was just their parents, siblings, and dogs as the witnesses. I loved that she walked down their stairs with her dad and right into the living room. Afterwards, we did some portraits in front of their Christmas tree followed by a champagne toast outside using her grandma’s glasses. We finished up with some more portraits of Molly and Nick just down the street at Proksa Park and in front of their home. The December sun was shining just as bright as Molly’s smile and I’m so happy that was there to capture their wedding story!

Colton and Val

Colton and Val were originally going to have their wedding back in July and rescheduled for the first weekend in November. Strangely enough we had almost summer-like weather! They had their small outdoor ceremony on a little island on pond at the Smith Horse Farm in Kankakee. It’s no secret that I love backyard weddings and when the client’s backyard is a horse farm I am in heaven! Here’s a few highlights from Colton and Val’s wedding: working for the Smith family again, horses, a sunny AND warm November day, Colton’s cowboy hat, Val’s turquoise necklace, and all the smiles! I knew it was going to be an amazing day when I arrived and the ring bearers were fishing. Congrats to Colton and Val! I had the best time photographing their wedding ceremony!!

Madison and Matt

Farm weddings are such chill and laid back affairs which is right up my alley. Madison and Matt’s wedding on the family farm in Beaverville, IL earlier this month was just that! Everybody was just hanging out and having fun and in the middle of it all Madison and Matt got married. Some of the highlights from their wedding is doing bridal party portraits surrounded by really pretty autumn color, the lounge on the lawn, dinner by food truck, the best donuts I’ve ever eaten, and s’mores around the bonfire. What a beautiful day!

Morgan and Dan

A few weeks ago Morgan and Dan got married on a gorgeous autumn day surrounded by their immediate family and close friends. Because of Illinois’ restrictions they had to do a last minute venue change but I am all for lodge weddings out in the country and LaSalle Manor was the perfect place to have an intimate wedding! This wedding was amazing in so many ways and a few highlights are the Pullman train car the bridesmaids got ready in, all the beautiful bouquets and the floral backdrop for the ceremony, the chocolate chip cookies Morgan’s grandma made, the olive tree they planted together during their ceremony and the wood-fired pizza for dinner. Thank you to Morgan and Dan for having me be a part of their wedding. Plan B (or C?) turned out to be perfect!! -Jake

Carla and Scott

Carla and Scott got married a couple of weeks ago at the Kankakee Country Club along the river. We used to live just a couple of blocks away so it was great to be in the area again! Their ceremony was held inside with a beautiful circular floral backdrop. After the ceremony we went outdoors with the bridal party for portraits. It was a bit drizzly out but that didn’t stop Carla and Scott from having fun and getting on golf carts for photos around the golf course. Congrats Carla and Scott! -Jake
