Core Interior Design and Home Store

As small business owners ourselves, Jake and I feel strongly about supporting locally-owned, independent businesses. Core Interior Design and Home Store is an amazing, new concept shop in downtown Downers Grove, IL. While, the location and retail portion of Core is brand new, Gretchen Dockendorff, the owner of Core Interiors, is a design veteran of over 22 years. What is unique about Core Home is that it is continually changing. The shop is designed to consistently develop and maintain an ever-evolving design challenge. Gretchen closes down the store for a week every month to "pick" new items from across the country, as well as redo the front area of the store; which is currently a rustic-masculine-modern theme.

Core Home offers a variety of hand-picked items that are unique unto themselves and the retail industry. From beautiful brass animal figurines, to antlers, and custom pieces of art from local artists such as LauterWerks and Chuck Radeke there is something that appeals to everyone. Gretchen's attention to detail and proclivity for the eclectic makes Core Home a must-see during any visit to the Western Suburbs.

And if you've been once, go again. It's already almost completely different!

Michelle and Nick's Wedding

Michelle and Nick had such an amazing day. Their vision for their wedding was a perfect reflection of their relationship. Their theme was a mix of vintage and contemporary styles. They used chevron patterns, gold accents, light orange and bright pink flowers.

It was beautiful!

They got ready at the iconic Drake Hotel in Chicago, and were wed at St.Clements Church. Their beautiful reception was held at the Women's Club of Evanston.

Michelle and Nick were so much fun to work with, it was easy to walk away with amazing images as they were so easy to photograph!

Sarah and Dan's Wedding

Sarah and Dan had a beautiful summer-themed wedding {with a patriotic twist} that was filled with a lot of laughter -- and so much love. They were married at Willow Creek Church and had their reception at the Itasca Country Club. Sarah and Dan couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous day. I had so much fun working with them, and I am honored to have been a part of their day.

Emilie's Maternity Session

There is nothing more beautiful to me than a glowing pregnant lady. So, naturally, I was thrilled when Emilie and I set up a time to do her maternity photos. Emilie is quite possibly the most adorable pregnant lady I have ever seen, and her belly.is.perfection.

Her little one is due so, so soon and I cannot WAIT to meet him...or her...although let it be known I am predicting a boy.
